A 35-year-old man is in hospital after being stabbed in the east end in a possible "road rage" incident on Monday morning.

Police say they received a call for a stabbing at about 7:15 a.m. at 430 McLevin Ave., near Neilson Road, south of Finch Avenue. A man was found in his car with stab wounds.

The stabbing occurred on Wickson Trail, just east of Neilson Road. The victim then drove several blocks north, and stopped his Toyota at the front entrance of a high-rise condo on McLevin Avenue.

Police say a suspect smashed the car window and stabbed the man several times in the upper body. The incident originally started on Highway 401 and then the vehicles left the highway to Wickson Trail where the men got into an altercation.

The victim was taken to hospital in serious condition. Police say he is in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery.

Police are on the hunt for 28-year-old John Hoang of Toronto. He was wanted for aggravated assault.

Hoang is described as Asian with black hair. He fled the scene in a red Honda with Ontario licence plate number 44T 032. The plate may have a "Toronto Maple Leaf" logo.

Anyone with information on the suspect or the vehicle is asked to call 911. Police ask the public not to approach Hoang.
