TORONTO - Mike Weir had to cut his pro-am round short at St. George's Golf and Country Club, but is still expected to compete in the RBC Canadian Open.

The lefty from Bright's Grove, Ont., walked off the course early because of a lingering tendinitis issue in his forearm.

Weir is expected to address the media later in the afternoon.

The 40-year-old wore a band on the arm during his charity pro-am event earlier this week.

Weir is one of 18 Canadians scheduled to compete in the tournament that starts Thursday.
