GUELPH, Ont. - It's no longer certain whether health records will be online by the deadline of 2015.

Premier Dalton McGuinty says he's asked new Health Minister Deb Matthews to take a "long, hard, cold, analytical look" at where things are at with electronic health records and to be honest about timelines.

Matthews, who took over from David Caplan after he resigned ahead of a scathing report into the mismanagement of eHealth Ontario, has yet to provide her answer.

She doesn't have a deadline to decide, McGuinty says, and was only told to take the time she needs.

McGuinty says he isn't necessarily looking to slow the process--he just doesn't want any more waste to come from hastiness.
