TORONTO -- MLS commissioner Don Garber says an announcement on league expansion is expected in the next four to six week.

Garber was in town Wednesday for the MLS Commercial Summit, which involved the league's three Canadian teams, broadcast partners and staff.

"We're hopeful to be able to announce a 20th team within the next four to six weeks," Garner told reporters at halftime of the Amway Canadian Championship game between Toronto and Montreal. "So the timing has accelerated a little bit."

Garber did not elaborate but a second team in the New York area has been a priority. Orlando has also announced plans to build a stadium.
