TORONTO - The Toronto Argonauts say they are expecting star tackle Khalif Mitchell to be on hand when players report to training camp in June.

The defending Grey Cup champions, who acquired Mitchell earlier this month, issued a statement Friday after recent media reports indicated he is not planning to report to his new team.

"On April 2, 2013, The Toronto Argonauts made a trade in good faith with the B.C. Lions and acquired import DL Khalif Mitchell," the team said. "All Argonauts players, as per the Canadian Football League, are expected to report to training camp on June 1, 2013. The club will have no further comment on the matter at this time."

The six-foot-five, 316-pound Mitchell was a CFL all-star in 2011. He has registered 54 tackles and eight sacks in 34 career CFL games.

Mitchell was acquired from the Lions for defensive end Adrian Awasom and the rights to a negotiation list player.

Mitchell was suspended for two games by the league last season after hyperextending the arm of Edmonton Eskimos offensive lineman Simeon Rottier during a game.
