Police have issued a public safety alert in connection with a rash of break-ins in the Annex area.
The investigation started in December after someone broke in to several houses and apartments in the area bordered by Bloor Street to the south, Dupont Street to the north, Bathurst Street to the west and Avenue Road to the east.
Police believe the suspect specifically targeted ground-floor apartments, accessing them through the fire escapes. Most of the robberies took place during daylight hours and a knife was used in each incident.
Police are urging people to be vigilant and ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS.
