Randy (The Natural) Couture has a date with a dentist when he gets back home to Las Vegas.

The 47-year-old UFC Hall of Famer was knocked out by a Lyoto Machida front kick to the face at 1:05 of the second round Saturday night at UFC 129.

UFC president Dana White said he went into the cage afterwards to see if Couture was OK.

"He said 'Yes, he hit me in the tooth' and it fell out while he was showing me," White told reporters. "I said 'That's all right, we'll get a new one, a better one than that when we get back to Vegas."'

Couture (19-11) did not attend the post-fight new conference. He went to hospital to be checked out.

"He thought he got hit with a punch," White said.

Couture had said this would be his last fight and reiterated that position in the cage.

"This is it," said Couture.

Machida's finish earned him $129,000 for knockout of the night.

The UFC has a history of lost teeth.

Sumo wrestler Teila Tuli had one of his teeth fly out of the cage after he was kicked in the head by Gerard Gordeau at the very first UFC show in 1993.

And Diego Sanchez knocked a Karo Parisyan's tooth loose with a knee to the face in a 2006 fight.
