A two-alarm fire at a vacant Gunns Road industrial building is now under control, Toronto Fire Services says.

Earlier in the evening, flames could be seen shooting from the roof of the burning, witnesses say.

One firefighter was treated on scene for heat exhaustion.

According to reports, the building was set to be demolished in about a month, with a mall going up in its place.

The blaze caused traffic backups for blocks near Weston Road and St. Clair Avenue West on Friday evening as police closed numerous streets to keep the public away from the fire site.
