Former Canadian Football League receiver and TV analyst Leif Petterson has died.

Petterson launched his career with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 1974 and finished his eight-year football career with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

He played in Grey Cup games with both teams and was a league all-star in 1979.

Petterson joined TSN as a CFL analyst in 1986.

He died of an apparent heart attack on Thursday at his Toronto home. He was 57.

Toronto Argonauts CEO and former TSN president Keith Pelley says Leif was one of the most competitive people he has ever met, saying the only thing he loved more than winning was his family.
