KITCHENER, Ont. - A funeral service is underway this afternoon for Pte. Tyler William Todd who was killed by a roadside bomb blast in Afghanistan just over a week ago.

The funeral service is being held at the Plattsville Missionary Church in Kitchener and will be followed by a private family interment.

Supporters are invited to line the streets to show their respect.

People are also being encouraged to wear a yellow ribbon in honour of Todd.

The 26-year-old soldier was born in Kitchener but raised in nearby Bright, Ont.

He was a member of 11 Platoon, Delta Company from the 1st Battalion of the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, based in Edmonton.
