Germany soccer captain Michael Ballack undergoes foot surgery

FRANKFURT, Germany - The German football federation says captain Michael Ballack has undergone an operation to repair his feet.

The operation was to remove thickened tissue.

Ballack's club Chelsea approved the operation, the federation said Friday, and it will be two weeks before the midfielder trains again.
