Girl in critical condition after water rescue

A 15-year-old girl remains in critical condition in a Toronto hospital after she was rescued from the water at Woodbine Beach on Tuesday.

Paramedics sought help from bystanders to locate and pull the teen from Lake Ontario as she struggled in the water.

She is receiving medical treatment at Sick Kids Hospital.

Police said the girl went into distress while swimming at the east-end beach.
