The Los Angeles Police Department will not confirm reports that it is investigating Michael Jackson's death as a homicide.

Entertainment blog TMZ posted the claims on Wednesday. However, the LAPD's Richard French says the investigation hasn't changed directions and officers continue to sift through evidence.

"All I can really tell you at this time is that it is an ongoing investigation," he told CP24 in a phone interview. "We can't tell you anything we haven't already stated."

Vials of the anesthetic Propofol were found in Jackson's home after he died. The TMZ reports said Jackson's doctor was under investigation for administering the drug.
