BELLEVILLE - A man and woman face charges after money was stolen from two poppy boxes in a restaurant in Trenton, Ont.

Provincial police say two suspects took money from one box last Friday afternoon and returned and took money from a second box in the evening.

Forty-eight-year-old Wayne Enright and 37-year-old Theresa Marcotte, both of Trenton, are each charged with two counts of theft under $5,000.

Marcotte appeared in court Monday and Enright is due in court Dec. 8.

More thefts in Hamilton

Police in Hamilton are reporting another theft of poppy boxes, about a week after a similar incident.

Investigators believe the same man is responsible for all the thefts in Hamilton.

Police said a man stole two poppy boxes from a Tim Hortons on Barton Street East on Tuesday at about 1:20 a.m.

Police said the same man stole poppy boxes from two Tim Hortons locations in Hamilton on Nov. 3.

Toronto suspect granted bail

Meanwhile, the man accused of stealing poppy boxes from three locations in Toronto was granted bail Tuesday afternoon.

Tomas Hvozdar, 26, of Toronto, will be released on $3,000 bail.

He will be required to reside with his mother in Etobicoke and to surrender all travel documents.

Hvozdar is also prohibited from being within 50 metres of the three locations at which he is accused of stealing poppy boxes.
