TORONTO - The first phase of a new $50-million terminal at Toronto's island airport is now open to the public.

The terminal triples Porter's capacity and paves the way for increased flights throughout the United States.

The upgrade includes new lounge spaces, aircraft gates and passenger service areas.

Porter expects more than one million passengers to use the airport this year.

Porter, which already served 10 cities, adds seasonal flights to Myrtle Beach, S.C., on Sunday, and daily service to Sudbury on March 31.
