Investigators are on scene following a multiple-vehicle collision in Etobicoke.
On Saturday morning, police said the crash occurred just before 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, near the intersection of the Gardiner Expressway and Kipling Avenue.
In a follow-up media release, police said there was "a large amount" of hay bales on the Gardiner Expressway, which drivers attempted to avoid, resulting in the collision. Police said that four vehicles were involved.
A 48-year-old passenger was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Three other people were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators are now searching for the source of the hay bales.
