One person was assessed for injuries after firefighters stamped out a two-alarm fire at a highrise in Scarborough Sunday night.

The fire broke out at a 9th floor apartment on Glen Everest Road in the Danforth Avenue and Kingston Road area shortly before 10 p.m.

Firefighters responded with 12 trucks and 45 firefighters and managed to quickly knock down the fire.

Paramedics said one person was being assessed for possible injuries, though it wasn’t clear if they would need to go to hospital.

By 10:30 p.m., police said lingering smoke was the main hazard remaining.

It’s not yet clear how the fire started or how extensive the damage was.
