A pedestrian has died after being struck by a vehicle which fled the scene in Toronto's Roncesvalles neighbourhood.
Toronto Paramedic Services said they were called to Roncesvalles Avenue, near Hewitt Avenue, around 5:14 a.m. The pedestrian, a 48-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene, they said.
According to Toronto police, a dark-coloured Volkswagen GT1 was travelling south on Roncesvalles Avenue when it fatally struck the pedestrian.
The vehicle was last seen heading west on Howard Park Avenue.
On Thursday afternoon, police released a photo of the suspect vehicle and asked anyone with information to contact them at 416-222-TIPS (8477) or www.222tips.com.
