COLOMBO, Sri Lanka - Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi won the toss and opted to bat first against Canada in their World Cup Group A match at R. Premadasa Stadium on Thursday.

Pakistan made two changes from the team which defeated Sri Lanka by 11 runs last Saturday and also beat Kenya by 205 runs in the first game.

Fast bowler Wahab Riaz and offspinner Saeed Ajmal make their World Cup debuts, replacing Shoaib Akhtar and Abdur Rehman.

Rehman sprained a muscle in his right leg while fielding on Saturday and was advised to have a week's break, while Akhtar was rested.

Canada had to leave out 40-year-old John Davison at the last moment after he pulled a muscle in his right leg during the warm-up.

Davison did not score in either of the two heavy losses against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. Fast bowler Henry Osinde replaced Davison in the playing XI.
