A panhandler accused of killing a man on Queen Street West has been found guilty of second-degree murder.

Nicole Kish was convicted Tuesday in the fatal stabbing of Ross Hammond in August 2007.

Hammond, 32, was stabbed four times after he refused to give a panhandler some spare change. Police allege words were exchanged between the victim and his attacker before a fight broke out on the street.

Kish's lawyers argued that the Crown can't prove it was the 24-year-old woman who delivered the deadly blow to Hammond, who was also attacked by others with punches and kicks at the time, the Toronto Star reports.

Kish pleaded not guilty, while three co-accused previously pleaded guilty to lesser offences and were deported to the United States, the Star reports.
