ALBANY, N.Y. - Officials say four tires failed on an Air Canada flight that had to make an emergency landing at Albany International Airport because of engine problems.

No injuries are reported among the seven passengers and two crew members in Thursday's mishap.

Tickets for the flight were sold by Air Canada but the trip was operated by Air Georgian, which has planes branded with the Air Alliance name.

Crew on the plane from Toronto to Manchester, N.H., first declared an in-flight emergency after having problems with one of its two engines.

The Albany airport was identified as the closest to make an emergency landing, and the plane touched down just before 11 a.m.

Air Georgian president Paul Mulrooney says he's not yet sure whether there was ice on the plane's brakes or if the pilot braked too heavily, causing the tires to blow out.

The airport was closed until about noon, with departing aircraft held at the gates.

Mulrooney says ground transport was arranged for the passengers heading to Manchester since it was a quicker option than waiting for another flight.
