FLESHERTON, Ont. - Provincial police say a "stun gun" was used in an assault on a student at a central Ontario high school.

The incident took place during the lunch hour Wednesday at Grey Highlands Secondary School in Flesherton, about 50 kilometres southeast of Owen Sound.

Police say as a group of students were leaving the school, a student placed an object against the mid-section of another boy who fell to the ground instantly.

When the victim was able to get up again, the students were taken to the school office where it was determined that a small, commercially produced conducted energy device was used.

The victim was not seriously injured and police say a 16-year-old boy is facing charges of unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon and assault with a weapon.

Investigators seized the weapon, described as a small rectangular box with the words "stun gun" printed on it.
