LONDON, England - Injury-plagued England midfielder Owen Hargreaves is trying to persuade clubs to offer him a contract with a series of YouTube videos showing him working out.

The 30-year-old Calgary-born Hargreaves was released by Manchester United at the end of the season after playing just five matches in three years because of knee problems.

Hamstring and shoulder injuries hampered his comeback this season, limiting him to a single five-minute appearance in November.

A series of 20 short clips from nine seconds to one minute 52 seconds long show Hargreaves moving and running freely. One is called "Owen Hargreaves comeback."

England's standout player at the 2006 World Cup, Hargreaves joined United for 17 million pounds ($26.3 million) in 2007.

English papers have speculated MLS teams in Toronto and Vancouver may be interested.
