Toronto FC midfielder Amado Guevara was suspended for one game and fined US$250 by the Major League Soccer Disciplinary Committee on Thursday for his conduct in an Aug. 3 game.

Guevara will serve his suspension when Toronto FC plays the Colorado Rapids on Aug. 9 and the New York Red Bulls on Aug. 17. He will then join the Honduras national team for World Cup qualifying on Aug. 20 in Mexico.

Guevara is the captain and all-time caps leader (105) of the Honduran national team. He last played for Honduras club CD Motagua before joining Toronto FC on April 9.

He has three goals in 13 games this season for Toronto.
