REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - Toronto FC midfielder Maurice Edu is going from the pitch to pixels.

Edu will grace the cover of EA Sports' FIFA Soccer 09 video game in North America, along with Brazilian star Ronaldinho and Mexican national team 'keeper Guillermo Ochoa.

Edu, 22, is in his second season with Toronto after being selected first overall in the 2007 MLS Superdraft and then being named rookie of the year.

He participated in a body motion capture session for the made-in-Vancouver title, due out this fall.

Edu will also appear in the Nintendo Wii version of the game as a customized Mii.

"I got a kick out of my Mii because it looks like he has a lot of fun on the pitch and he's capable of pulling off some wild moves," Edu said in a release. "It's fun to take control of my character and blast outrageous shots on goal with a flick of the wrist. I've never played soccer like this before."
