The TTC has rejected a proposal by AshleyMadison.com to wrap streetcars in ads for the website, which connects married people interested in having affairs.

The proposed ads would have included the slogan, “Life is short, have an affair.”

TTC spokesperson Brad Ross told CP24 that the commission’s ad committee rejected the proposal on Friday afternoon.

TTC staff had recommended that the committee reject it because they didn’t believe it was appropriate for city streetcars to be promoting infidelity. He said each ad proposal that comes to the TTC is analyzed on its individual merits.

The site boasts more than 4.6 million members and says Toronto is one of its fastest-growing markets.
