Morgan Freeman is recovering in hospital following a serious car accident near his home in Mississippi.
The actor's publicist says he suffered a broken arm, broken elbow and minor shoulder damage in the accident, but the Oscar-winner is in good spirits.
The car Freeman was driving went off the road and flipped several times in the crash. Emergency crews needed to use the Jaws of Life to free him from the wreck.
Freeman, 71, is one of the stars in this summer's blockbuster film, The Dark Night.
