A mother and her nine-year-old child have been badly injured after being hit on a Brampton street Tuesday night.

Peel police say the boy was thrown by the impact of the eastbound vehicle. It hit the pair on Clark Boulevard, near Central Park Drive, at about 6 p.m.

The woman became pinned under a westbound vehicle and had to be extracted by fire crews.

Both are now in hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Clark Boulevard was closed from Kings Cross Road to Central Park Drive while police investigated.
