City Hall glows with four-letter words for Nuit Blanche

The city's annual all-night arts festival, Nuit Blanche, has taken over Toronto's streets with all sorts of artistic antics, which began at sunset on Saturday.

From dusk to dawn, 132 exhibitions and art projects will spring up across the city’s downtown.

The event’s massive area is divided into three zones: Zone A, in the central downtown between Queen and Dupont Streets; Zone B, south of Queen Street between the Don Valley and Spadina Avenue; and Zone C, in the gallery-filled district west of Spadina Avenue.

While most of the exhibits were organized independently, 45 have been curated by Nuit Blanche’s four curators.

This year’s major City Hall exhibit is a massive, floating projection of four-letter words. The exhibit, created by Arizona artist D.A. Therrien, was suspended 65 metres above the council chamber.

Nuit Blanche is free and claims to be completely accessible.
