Toronto police say five people were injured after two stabbings in the Scarborough area early Saturday morning.
The incidents occurred at two separate locations shortly after 2 a.m.
Toronto Paramedic Services told CP24 they were called to the first stabbing at 2:01 a.m. near a McDonald's located at Markham Road and Progress Avenue.
Paramedics say two people were stabbed at that location and taken to a trauma centre, one in life-threatening condition.
At 2:38 a.m., paramedics were called to the area of Ellesmere and Markham roads, just down the street from the first stabbing. Once on scene, paramedics say they found two people suffering from stab wounds. One sustained serious injuries while the other victim's injuries appeared to be minor.
A fifth victim was located in the area, however, police say they're unsure where the victim was stabbed.
According to police, all victims are now in non-life-threatening condition.
Investigators say they believe the stabbings are connected.
Police have not released suspect information and say no arrests have been made in the case.
The investigation is ongoing.
