Two brothers have been arrested after they allegedly broke into nine local businesses in the Niagara region last week, stealing over $35,000 worth of currency and goods.

Police allege that the break-and-enters happened on Sept. 28 and 29 in Pelham, and that the suspects targeted cash registers and safes.

After identifying the suspects, police say that search warrants were executed on Oct. 3. As a result, police uncovered clothing, shoes, property, two vehicles and a motorcycle which were all seized as proceeds of crime.

Police say that property from one of the break-in locations was recovered.

The 29-year-old suspects have been identified as Jonathan Andrew Mamone and Steven Anthony Mamone.

Both brothers are facing charges that include nine counts of break enter and commit, failures to comply with release orders and breaches of probation.
