No injuries reported after oil drum, car catch fire at commercial property in Scarborough

No one was injured after large flames and heavy black smoke billowed from a commercial property that caught fire in southwest Scarborough on Thursday morning.

No one was injured after large flames and heavy black smoke billowed from a commercial property that caught fire in southwest Scarborough on Thursday morning.

The two-alarm fire broke out shortly before 11 a.m. at 246 Raleigh Ave., located south of Danforth Road and west of Kennedy Road.

Toronto Fire Service (TFS) said when firefighters arrived on the scene, they found an oil drum and a car on fire at the rear of the premises. They added that a lot of other combustible materials were also located there.

Crews have now doused the blaze. They remain on scene and are working to gain access to assess any further damage, TFS said.

Police say roads in the area are closed and advise drivers to consider alternate routes.
