Police are looking for three suspects and their getaway vehicle following a smash-and-grab-style robbery in Scarborough’s Golden Mile area.
The incident happened on Tuesday at a jewelry kiosk at Golden Mile Shopping Centre, which is on the northeast corner of Eglinton Avenue East and Victoria Park Avenue.
Toronto police said they were called to that area shortly after 3:30 p.m.
Investigators report that three masked suspects approached a jewelry store and allegedly used hammers to smash glass display cases and removed an unknown quantity of jewelry.
Police said as the suspects fled, one of them dropped a replica handgun, which attending officers later found.
The suspects left the area in a gray sedan in an unknown direction.
Police have not said if anyone was injured in the robbery.
The three suspects are only described as male and wearing all-dark clothing.
Toronto Police Service’s Hold-Up Squad is investigating.
