Man, woman charged after police seize drugs, gun during Mississauga raid

A man and a woman are each facing several charges after police in Peel Region allegedly seized drugs and a gun during a recent raid in Mississauga.

On Jan. 7, Peel Regional Police said patrol officers received a call for a suspected overdose of an illicit drug, which resulted in an investigation into the source of the drugs.

Nine days later, on Jan. 16, officers executed a search warrant at a residence near Roche Court and Fowler Road, near the Queen Elizabeth Way and Erin Mills Parkway, in Mississauga.

There, they allegedly located a man in possession of a loaded illegal gun as well as a large quantity of suspected fentanyl, cocaine, Percocet tablets, and cannabis.

Two people were subsequently arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing at a Brampton court.

Kobe Archer, 24, of Mississauga, was charged with several offenses, including possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, and trafficking – opioid.

Rhianna Spanish, 18, of Sheshegwaning First Nation, in Ontario, is facing three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
