Arrest made, warrant issued after Brampton gas station robbery

Peel police have arrested one man and issued a warrant for another in connection with a gas station robbery in Brampton.

Investigators say on Jan.17, two male suspects robbed a gas station in the area of Hurontario Street and Bovaird Drive West.

During the incident, police say the suspects “displayed an imitation firearm,” demanded money, and fled with a quantity of cash.

"Imitation firearm." The "imitation firearm," Peel Regional Police say was used in connection to a Brampton gas station robbery on Jan.17.

No physical injuries were reported.

Police say 30-year-old Brampton resident, Jagtar Singh was apprehended a short distance from the scene. Singh is facing multiple charges including, robbery, wearing a disguise with intent and using an imitation firearm.

He was held for a bail hearing and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice.

Police are still searching for a second suspect, 30-year-old Taranjot Singh, who is also wanted for robbery, wearing a disguise with intent and using an imitation firearm.

Police are asking anyone with information or Taranjot Singh’s whereabouts to contact the Central Robbery Bureau or Peel Crime Stoppers to leave an anonymous tip.
