Police have arrested a suspect who allegedly sexually assaulted “multiple” victims in North York on Sunday afternoon.
Toronto Police Services confirmed to CTV News that an arrest had been made on Monday morning.
The first incident happened near Yonge Street and Sheppard Avenue East. Toronto police said they were called to that area at about 12:20 p.m.
Investigators report that a suspect entered a female changeroom in a fitness centre and allegedly sexually assaulted a victim before running away.
The next incident occurred near Wilson Avenue and Bathurst Street.
Police said they were called to that area at around 2 p.m. after a suspect allegedly followed a female victim and sexually assaulted her.
Investigators said that a witness interrupted the assault. The suspect then fled the area on foot.
The third sexual assault happened minutes later near Lawrence Avenue West and Bathurst Street.
In this case, a suspect allegedly approached a victim, and grabbed and assaulted her.
Another witness who was driving by stopped their vehicle and interrupted the assault, police said.
The victim fled the area on foot.
The suspect was described by police as a Black male, in his late 20s to early 30s and approximately five foot eight with a thin build, short curly hair, and a short black beard.
He was last seen wearing a grey/black jacket, blue jeans, and black shoes with a white sole, and carrying a black backpack.
