A 30-year-old man is facing charges in connection with a string of sexual assaults that happened in North York last Sunday, Toronto police say.

Police said they were first called to a fitness centre in the area of Yonge Street and Sheppard Avenue East at around 12:20 p.m.

According to police, the suspect walked into a women’s change room and allegedly sexually assaulted someone before running away.

About an hour-and-a-half later, at 2:00 p.m., police said they were called to the area of Bathurst Street and Wilson Avenue.

The accused allegedly was following the victim before he grabbed and sexually assaulted her.

A passerby stepped in to stop the assault, police say, and the suspect fled the area on foot.

Police said 10 minutes later, they were called to the area of Lawrence Avenue West and Bathurst Street for a similar incident as before. Between the two locations, it’s roughly a half-hour walk.

The suspect allegedly approached a woman from behind, grabbed her and assaulted her. Officers say a driver stopped their vehicle and interrupted the assault.

Police charged Arnold Edzodzomo with two counts each of sexual assault and assault, and one count of break and enter. The charges have not been tested in court.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact them at 416-808-3200 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
