Toronto police say two pedestrians were injured, one seriously, after a vehicle struck them in Cabbagetown Monday morning.
It happened at the intersection of River and Gerrard streets just before 6 a.m.
Police said the two pedestrians, a female and a man in his 50s, were struck by the vehicle as they were walking in the area together. The female sustained serious injuries, while the man’s injuries are considered to be non-life-threatening.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. It’s unclear what cause the collision.
Road closures are in effect along Gerrard Street from Sumach Street to River Street as police investigate.
