Tow truck set ablaze in driveway of Brampton home in latest incident linked to industry

Cellphone video shows a tow truck engulfed in flames in the driveway of a home near Steeles Ave. and Dixie Rd.

Police are investigating another deliberately set fire involving a tow truck.

The blaze occurred in the driveway of a home on Ascot Road, which is in the vicinity of Balmoral Drive and Dixie Road in Brampton.

Police say that officers were first called to the area at around 3 a.m. and have since deemed the fire to be an act of arson.

The Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal has been called in to investigate.

The incident is the latest in a series of deliberately set fires linked to the tow truck industry in Peel Region.

Last week, police launched an investigation after three tow trucks were torched in Brampton within the span of about 30 minutes.

No suspect descriptions have been released in connection with the latest incident and police continue to investigate.
