Authorities have charged a Calgary defence lawyer after he allegedly engaged in sexually explicit conversations with children online.
The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) arrested Jordan Bonner, 46, on April 30, following an investigation.
Officials allege Bonner used Snapchat to communicate with multiple youths, all between 11 and 15 years old, in December 2025.
Bonner’s screen names included “jrcbonner,” “whydoyoucare197” and “daddysboi10.”
ALERT alleges the accused also shared child exploitation materials with his victims.
Bonner is charged with:
- child luring;
- making child sexual abuse materials available to a child;
- making child sexual abuse materials;
- distributing child sexual abuse materials;
- possessing child sexual abuse materials;
- accessing child sexual abuse materials;
- unauthorized possession of a firearm;
- possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized; and
- careless storage of a firearm.
Criminal harassment charges
In November 2025, Bonner was also charged with criminal harassment by Calgary police for allegedly posting “defamatory, anti-law enforcement” content online.
It’s believed that Bonner targeted Calgary police directly with the posts.
Alberta RCMP, which took the lead on the investigation, alleged that Bonner threatened and stalked the lead investigator.
Bonner is expected in court on May 7.
