Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s son Xavier is launching his R&B Music Career

Xavier Trudeau, the 17-year-old son of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Sophie Grégoire, is making his foray into the world of music with the release of a song in the coming weeks.

The music video for ‘Til The Nights Done,’ is scheduled to debut on Xavier’s, or Xav, personal YouTube channel Feb. 21 and the track will be available for download on all major music platforms.

“Xav’s inspiration comes from a lifetime of experiences, and (he) has always loved the thought of making music,” Joey Boyer, co-founder of the Ottawa-based Pathway Music Group label, told CTVNews.ca.

“He wants to bring a new take on the R&B genre and impact the youth through his music and lyrical content. His style is dark, ambient R&B with a subtle hint of ballad. He takes inspiration from all aspiring artists globally.”

Boyer categorizes Xav’s music as being in the same vein as his fellow countrymen Justin Bieber and Drake, and similar to the stylings of Don Toliver and Post Malone.

A brief tease of the video was shared on the xavtrudeau_ Instagram account last week with text highlighting the lyrics “we could roll sum, we could light one” before a promotion of the song’s release date.

His mother Sophie commented on the post, writing “Good work guys!”

According to Boyer, Xavier will be releasing “many more songs and projects within the near future” and plans are in the works for collaborations, live performances and even tours later this year.
