York Regional Police are looking for suspects after a male was wounded in a shooting in Richmond Hill early Saturday morning.

Police said the victim was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Sunnybrook hospital in Toronto.

The shooting occurred in the street on Kimono Crescent, near Major Mackenzie Drive and Bayview Avenue, at about 1 a.m.

In a news release, police said the victim was shot as he sat in his car with a friend.

According to police, a dark-coloured van pulled up and an unknown male got out and approached the victim’s car.

The victim tried to drive away in reverse as shots were fired, police said.

No one has been arrested.
