The Montreal Victoire will be raising the team’s first-ever Walter Cup trophy at a victory parade through the city this Saturday.

The exact route and details of the parade has yet to be determined, Mayor Soraya Martinez Ferrada’s office told Noovo Info.

The Victoire lifted the trophy after defeating the Ottawa Charge 4-0 on May 20, winning the best-of-five series 3-1.

It marks the second straight year Canada’s capital city has lost in the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) finals.

Montreal previously defeated the two-time defending Walter Cup champions, the Minnesota Frost, in the semifinal to advance to the championship.

This is the first time a Canadian team has won the trophy, with Victoire captain Marie-Philip Poulin named the Walter Cup Playoffs’ Most Valuable Player, with eight points in nine games.
