The Toronto Blue Jays are adding a veteran right-hander to their bullpen.
The team says it has agreed to terms with Michael Lorenzen on a one-year contract.
The 34-year-old will be active for tonight’s home game against the Kansas City Royals.
Lorenzen was 3-11 with a 7.08 earned-run average over 25 starts this season for the Colorado Rockies, who released him last week.
He made his big-league debut in 2015 with the Cincinnati Reds and was an all-star with the Detroit Tigers in 2023. Lorenzen has a 4.40 ERA over 421 career appearances.
The Blue Jays also optioned right-hander Chad Dallas to triple-A Buffalo and transferred outfielder Jonatan Clase to the 60-day injured list.
