A third Toronto man has now been charged with attempted murder following a shooting in Brampton two months ago that injured two people, including a Peel police officer.

It happened on Stokes Road, in the Chinguacousy Road and Queen Street West area, at around 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 16.

According to police, an officer was shot at after responding to a 911 call.

“Numerous rounds were fired towards the officer, one of which struck him,” police said in a release issued in October.

A male victim was also found at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds. Both he and the officer were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

In a release issued Thursday afternoon, police announced that a third suspect had been arrested in connection with the case.

Twenty-three-year-old David Lee Kawal is charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of kidnapping, and ‘numerous’ firearms-related offences.

He is scheduled to appear in court in Brampton Friday.

In October, suspects Christopher Osborne, 25, and twenty-three-year-old Tyrel Nicholson were similarly charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of kidnapping, and an undisclosed number of firearms-related offences.
