Toronto police have charged a 43-year-old talent agent in connection with a series of sexual assaults against three men over the past decade.

Police say the earliest incident took place in 1996 after the suspect approached a 16-year-old boy on the street and told him he could be a model. Police say the boy contacted the suspect and began modelling for him.

The boy was then allegedly sexually assaulted during a photo shoot in the suspect’s home studio.

The second incident allegedly took place between July and September of 2000. Police say a 15-year-old boy was sexually assaulted by the suspect during another shoot at the man’s home studio.

Police also allege that between the fall of 2009 and the summer of 2010, the suspect sexually assaulted a man who modelled for him on three separate occasions – twice at his home studio and once more at a another location.

While the alleged incidents date back as far as 17 years, Const. Wendy Drummond told cp24.com it’s not unusual for a long period of time to lapse before victims report a sexual assault.

“It’s difficult. Sexual assaults are a very personal crime against a person and everybody deals with it differently,” Drummond said. “Sexual assaults are known to be underreported because of that reason.”

Drummond also said it’s possible some of the victims know each other.

“We know that when somebody does come forward it encourages other people to come forward as well,” Drummond said. “This agency did hire quite a few clients and they would have worked together at a lot of shoots.”

Police say the suspect owns and operates a modelling talent agency known as Norwayne Anderson Models.

Norwayne Anderson, 43, of Toronto, was arrested on Sept. 10. He now faces five counts of sexual assault and two counts of sexual exploitation.

He is described as black, standing six feet, and weighing about 200 pounds with short, black hair and a thin moustache.

Police believe there may be more victims.
