Just a few days removed from presiding over his first real city council meeting, Mayor John Tory will mark another first today: his ballet debut.
Tory will appear as a Canon Doll with his wife Barbara Hackett in the opening performance of the National Ballet of Canada’s ’The Nutcracker’ at 2 p.m. at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts.
The cameo is part of a longstanding tradition that has seen Toronto mayors and other notable residents invited to appear in the show.
Former Mayor Rob Ford appeared in ‘The Nutcracker’ in 2011.
