Two Ajax homes were damaged after a garage fire spread to a neighbouring residence early Wednesday morning.
The fire broke out in a garage attached to a home on Top Street near Harwood Avenue and Kerrison Drive at around 2 a.m.
According to Durham police, the fire subsequently engulfed the entire home and then spread to a neighbouring home.
No injuries were reported as a result, but a cat is unaccounted for.
The cause of the fire is not known.
