TORONTO - The top two contestants of the TV talent show "So You Think You Can Dance Canada" will perform in the National Ballet of Canada's "The Nutcracker" this weekend.

Montreal hip-hop/contemporary dancer Nico Archambault, who won the hit CTV series Sunday night, and runner-up Allie Bertram, a Calgary ballerina, will play cannon dolls in the National Ballet's holiday classic on Saturday.

The show will be syndicated live, starting at 2 p.m. ET, from the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto to 79 Cineplex Entertainment theatres from B.C. to Quebec (the company does not operate theatres in the Atlantic provinces).

A one-time presentation, it will be captured on six high-definition cameras and transmitted live via satellite.

The National Ballet frequently has two celebrity guests playing cannon dolls in "The Nutcracker," which is set in a winter wonderland in Russia.

Previous star cannon dolls have included literary icon Margaret Atwood and Barenaked Ladies lead singer Steven Page.
