TORONTO - Seamus O'Regan will no longer have to set his alarm clock for the crack of dawn.

The "Canada AM" co-host is leaving the CTV morning program to become a correspondent for "CTV National News."

O'Regan, a native of Newfoundland, has co-hosted "Canada AM" for nine years.

His current co-host is Beverly Thomson. Jeff Hutcheson is the show's weatherman while Marci Ien serves as news anchor.

CTV says a new "Canada AM" co-host will be announced Nov. 24, which is O'Regan's final day on the show.

He'll begin his new job on "CTV National News" on Nov. 28. The flagship newscast is hosted by Lisa LaFlamme, who took over from Lloyd Robertson in September.

CP24 and CTV are divisions of Bell Media.
